    Prerequisite: One year of college level introductory biology and permission of instructor.

    An introduction to the biology and evolution of the major invertebrate phyla, concentrating on marine representatives. Emphasis is placed on the evolution of form and function, and the ecology, behavior, physiology, chemical ecology, and natural history of invertebrates. Appledore Island's unique location provides an excellent venue for the study of freshly collected and in situ representatives of most of the major phyla. *Cornell University students, please contact the SML office to find out about tuition payments, registration and how to pay SML for room and board.
