    PREREQS: Permission of instructors. PRE-FRESHMAN are eligible to take this course (students who have graduated as of June 2010). Also for bio and non-bio majors. (Questions? Contact Robin Hadlock Seeley, Assistant Director for Academic Advising).

    - Successful completion of A Marine Approach to Introductory Biology FULFILLS 2 semesters of Intro Bio credit at Cornell, and most other colleges and universities. (Also fulfills the CALS Introductory Biology requirement for non-life science majors in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell.)

    - Outdoor adventure is a fundamental part of everyday!

    - A Marine Approach to Introductory Biology includes intensive lecture, laboratory and field experiences in an extremely supportive learning environment that emphasizes skill building, project design, and close collaboration with faculty and peers.     - CORE FACULTY includes SML Director Emeritus, J.B. Heiser, Denny Taylor from Hiram College, current SML Director Willy Bemis along with other Cornell professors and guest faculty with decades of experience teaching on Appledore.

    - TOPICS include: ecology - behavior - development - genomics; these topics will be unified with examples from evolutionary biology.

    - ENROLLMENT in A Marine Approach to Introductory Biology is LIMITED to 20 students; apply as soon as possible to ensure a place in this new course.

    Tuition, room and board, and boat-travel to Appledore Island, and all field trips are included in total course cost. FINANCIAL AID is available through SML!
