Historic Discovery at  the Isles of Shoals: The first prehistoric archaeological site in NH/ME has been discovered on Smuttynose Island, by Dr. Nate Hamilton and his Island Archaeology class!

New SML alum, Dani Neuharth-Keusch writes about sustainability at Shoals in The Cornell Daily Sun.

Appledore keeps getting greener thanks to support from Cornell and UNH, and the hard work and ingenuity of Shoals staff!

Shoals faculty and researcher, Dr. Doug Fudge looks to hagfish for "biosteel!" Fudge and colleagues have been granted a patent for the commercial use of hagfish nanofilaments.

Appledore Island Migration Banding Station: A Gray Catbird, Dumetella carolinensis, banded on May 19, 2009 was the 100,000th bird banded at our Appledore station!

Subsurface water treatment system APPROVED as a Capital Project at Cornell!
