PUBLIC EDUCATION: Adult and Family Education
All are welcome! Our adult and family education programs offer participants a chance to become immersed in marine-related topics in a remote and unique, island setting. Shoals alumni are encouraged to join us for any and all of these programs -- it's a great way to get back to Appledore Island! The programs listed below have no prerequisites and are open to the general public.
- A Garden is a Sea of Flowers

- SeaSHOALS: Marine Science Education for Families

- The Gulf of Maine: The Isles of Shoals
Thursday, September 3 - Sunday, September 6, 2015
In cooperation with Cornell's Adult University, Shoals is pleased to offer this NEW program! Led by David Bonter, ornithologist and biologist with Cornell's Lab of Ornithology, we will sail out to watch whales and pelagic birds and to explore the distinctive biological and historical treasures of the Isles of Shoals. We'll learn about those who have made their homes on these islands, from Native Americans to poet Celia Thaxter and artist Childe Hassam.
Program fees are all inclusive; room, board (shared rooms/2 or 4 to a room), all field trips, and transportation to and from Appledore Island are included in the total per person cost of each program.
CONFIRMATION PACKET MATERIALS
Confirmation packets with information about how to prepare for your trip will be sent to all registrants later this spring.
