PUBLIC EDUCATION: Adult and Family Education

All are welcome! Our Adult and Family Education programs offer participants a chance to experience the exciting world of marine science in a remote and unique, island setting. Shoals alumni are encouraged to join us for any and all of these programs -- it's a great way to get back to Appledore Island!

Adult and Family Education (AFED) Programs have NO prerequisites; they are open to the general public, and ideal for COUPLES and friends as all dorms are set-up as double occupancy.

For anyone over the age of 18 years of age:
Shoals History Week: Monday, AUGUST 5 - Friday, AUGUST 9, 2013

For families with children from 5-18 years of age (all children must be accompanied by an adult):
Please contact Shoals about possible family program options in 2014.

PAYMENT
See program pages for 2013 prices. Payment is required WITH your registration; see registration form for details.
Program fees are all inclusive; room, board (shared rooms/2 or 4 to a room), all field trips, and transportation to and from Appledore Island are included in the total per person cost of each program.
