Seabird Conservation Internships


  • DATES: JUNE 16 - JULY 7, 2008
  • STIPEND: $250/week 

Participants: Up to 2 interns
APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 14, 2008

Staff: SML Tern Restoration Project staff, Dan and Melissa Hayward and Steve Kress, Cornell University Laboratory of Ornithology and Project Puffin.

Stipend: Each intern will receive a stipend of $250/week plus room and board on White/Seavey Island and/or Puffin Project site for 3 weeks.  Includes two round trips between Portsmouth and Appledore AND transportation to and from the Puffin Project site. Interns are responsible for their own travel arrangements and transportation costs to and from Portsmouth, NH.

Prerequisites: Must have successfully completed either
FIELD ORNITHOLOGY or SEABIRD ECOLOGY and CONSERVATION at Shoals Marine Laboratory.

Spend time at Shoals Marine Laboratory working with the Tern Restoration Project team on White and Seavey Island, Isles of Shoals, AND time working as a member of Audubon’s PROJECT PUFFIN on a remote island, “Downeast” Maine.
