Discovering Marine Science for the Whole Family
ARRIVAL: SML VESSEL DEPARTS PORTSMOUTH, NH DOCK @ 10:30AM
PLAN TO ARRIVE IN PORTSMOUTH AT LEAST 1.5 HOURS BEFORE DEPARTURE TIME!
(Participants arrive at SML on Appledore Island in time for LUNCH at 12:30PM)
DEPARTURE: SML VESSEL DEPARTS APPLEDORE ISLAND DOCK @ 2:00PM
Participants be returned to the dock in Portsmouth by around 3:30PM.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Come to SML and bring the children** along! Appledore Island is a treasure chest waiting for your family to unlock its secrets. Through field trips, creative crafts and interactive workshops your family will learn about life under the sea and along the shore. Boat trips in search of seals and seabirds, treasure hunts, stargazing, compass capers, and tidepooling will round out three days of discovery. Learn about marine science in a relaxed and beautiful setting with your family. Exciting news for 2011: New England based children's book author Tracy Kane* will be joining Kids Ahoy! Tracy will guide Kids Ahoy! families in creating an Appledore Island Fairy House Village!
**For children from 5-18 years of age. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
